About

The Tallus Android Changer application provides control over a DVD / CD Changer through an Android phone or device.

This is not a stand alone application, as it relies on the TChanger Application for the actual communication to the changer.

Requirements

- Android device with the OS 1.5 or newer.
- TChanger Application.
- Sony's new [BDP-CX7000ES] BluRay changer.

Installation

Since this application will not be available on The Market, at least initially, you might need to follow instructions like these: Installing a non-Market app

Alternatively, there seem to be a bunch of Android applications like AppsInstaller which makes it even easier...

Most current version is always here: Direct download for Android web connected devices

Purchase TAChanger Here and make sure to email your Android's ID (after you install the application on the Android device and go to the Registration window) for licensing.

Configuration

In order to reach the Server configuration screen, use the hardware Menu button from your Android phone or device. You can also consult information about the connected Changer, access the Remote control screen, etc.

The configuration is simple (see the image on the left), you just need to point to the Server running the TChanger Application and the port enabled as External control (you might need to adjust your firewall to allow this). After pressing Apply, the new configuration will be saved and an attempt will be made to connect to that Server. You probably need to include the domain name or use the IP address. If you want to have access from outside your home network, you will need to open up that port in your router and probably setup some dynamic IP like dyns....

On a successful connection, the Changer page (see the image on the right) will display some information about the Changer to which it is connected. The important information is also duplicated on the main screen. Pressing the Resync option (after pressing the Menu button) will wipe the database and refill it. Once the support for multiple Changers is enabled, this is where you would select a particular one, through a drop down menu.

Navigation

- The hardware Menu button will bring up the "Options menu" appropriate to the current screen. This is where you access the Server settings, get to access a Remote control and more.

- The hardware Back button will bring you to the previous screen, or kill the application if pressed from the Main screen.

- The hardware Home button will bring you to your device's Home screen, while keeping the taChanger application running in the background and receiving data.

- On the Main screen, shortcuts are available by tapping the Changer's name, disc number's or Status.

- On the List screen, performing a "long press" will bring a context menu where you can Load/Play/View details of the selected disc.
